All Match Officials from Bristol City v Crystal Palace Game taken off Match Appointments Referees Chief Keith Hackett makes Public Appology to Crystal Palace
a public apology is all well and good but don't for one minute think that anything will be done about the ref from that game. he'll be 'rested' for a week or two and that will be all but he'll probably have been due a break anyway because they don't ref every week. I guarentee he wont be sacked
On Tuesday it's Dean Whitestone, one of the wunderkids that's been promoted beyond his competence.
So nowt to come there either.

Surely thats wrong for 1 of them possibly 2 of them The linesman at the other end must be fairly blameless, and I am not sure about the 4th official - is he allowed to intervene? Real culprits are the ref and linesman - especially the linesman who's job it is is to watch for balls crossing the line. Goals need a bit of redesign as well
Yeah mate, doesn't seem very fair on the linesman at the other end. How can he call it from there? Having said that they have enough power to give a penalty against Kozzy from the same position so ya never know.
RE: What happened? I haven't seen it Freddy Sears scored it went in hit the back of the net and bounced out, the liner and the Ref both said it hit the advertising boards behind the goal and bounced back onto the pitch and wouldnt give it
Palace scored a perfectly good goal Stricker tucked the ball into the bottom corner of the net - it then rolled back out into the pitch - there was a big clue in that everyone - even the bristol players stopped playing - but the ref waved playon - after being surrounded by the palace players ref went and consulted with the linesman who presumably said it didnt go in - not sure what he said had happened
If Mr Warnock didn't spend the entire game berating the linesman and the fourth official, perhaps they would be able to do their jobs a bit better. He's "hard done by" nearly every week isn't he?
Yes they would I suppose Would have had different looks on their faces though but I concede your point
Big difference being... That all the Palace players ran to congratulate Sears on the goal! Slight giveaway.
Hes normally right though Can't stand him but generally speaking he is right and refs have got it wrong. Davey berates the linesman and 4th official regularly too
As do most other managers most of the time with good reason. Though all are selective about the incidents they highlight.
One or two older posters... ...may remember a game at Rochdale many years ago. Peter Springett was in goal. Rochdale scored a "goal" in EXACTLY the same way - it hit the stantion in the back of the net and came back out directly into Springett's hands. Quick as a flash, Springett placed the ball on the corner of the 6 yard box and took a goal-kick. The ref never even had time to decide what to do. The game was up and running again before anyone had the chance to think about it.
