I write this not knowing what division we'll be in next season, but in Davey and his players i trust, we did it last season, we'll do it again.

    1) Improve away form drastically = Its a tough division, but it ain't the premier league.I am clueless as to why we are so bad away from 'Well yet so solid at home. The players get to play in some fantastic stadiums for this level, they should be just as up for it as at home. Are they bottlers? I've only seen two away games, both Sheff matches and felt we deserved draws minimum. Can't vouch for owt else except Hull on Sky where we went out without a whimper

Davey must make us difficult to beat away, whether thats putting five in midfiled and being negative, then so be it, our away form is an embaressment and is worthy of relegation. If the players haven't got the stomach for a game away from Well, then get shut of em, Shepherd and Cryne have worked too hard to be back in League 1 again soon.We are a Championship side and our minimum aim should be to keep that status from now on.Never again should we play in the 3rd tier of English football

    2) Not cut off his nose to spite his face = This season will be remembered best for our cup run, great football early in season. But worst it will be remebered for our manager signing players, then never seeing them again after a few matches,no explaination nothing!! Shepherd must address this next season, people spend too much money and time on this football club to not be kept in the loop.if a player is a alcoholic, tell us he has personal problems, if he isn't good enough for the squad, tell us so.I like Davey and i like the fact that he has discipline, but too many people are tiring of this apparant 'im in charge its my way or the highway'

    3) Sign British experience for central midfield = Davey's signings have been 80% fantastic this season,he has brought some real quality to the side that will in my opinion next season turn us into a a top 10 side. But and its a big but,we have been so short of experience and quality in central midfield all season. You only have to look now with Johnson out of favour,Anderson injured and McCann sold, we are playing a right back in middle.Who may i add is doing a damn good job of it, but only goes to highlight how short we are of bodies.Look at the defence, total opposite end of spectrum, so much choice so much flexibility, nearly all can play in at least two positions,we have never been found wanting once this year as we have coped with injuries, suspensions etc.

The whole Johnson saga is an absolute joke, anybody who saw him put a man of the match performance in against Plymouth all those months ago can only wonder how many more points we may have picked up with an absolute beast of a man and leader in that centre mid.Gary Speed, Graham Kavanagh are exactly the type of player we have needed all season, this must be a priority

    4) Sign someone at all costs that will put the ball in the net = Our strikers this season have not been short on effort, hold up play and strength, but they have lacked goals.Mostto obviousley has talent, but my worst fears when i heard we had shelled out 400k on a lad from Peru, have come true.Peru / Barnsley different worlds Davey, its a gamble signing anyone from that far away,it hasn't paid off.Kayode will come good next season, but we have to play to his strengths, slide rule balls that open up defences and exploit his pace and power.Macken and Ferenczi have been excellent, nobody can ever question their desire and workrate,Macken at 100k looks a snip, but its imperative we have a goal machine to feed of these guys.

We have made a packet from cup success, Davey must buy british and buy pace.A striker version of Campbell Ryce would have this division quaking in its boots.

I believe the signings of Muller/Steele, Foster/Souza, Nyatanga/Kozluk and Anderson/Ryce have given us the best platform to build a fantastic team around, the best we have had in years,if we can get a couple of older heads in midfield and two strikers, this side will walk a top 10 finish, maybe more

Maybe some of the early signing may not have been Davey choice, but the more recent ones have got better lets just hope we
stay up. Sometimes you've got to be professional and not bring things into public, he may need some of the player's he don't like
at the end of the season and slating them would'nt do the club any good.
    Good post.

You are right in many things you say. Strikers apart we do have the basis of an excellent side. The major concern now is that we are going to end up in League 1 and risk losing our most talented players.

we need de silva and/or a decent experienced replacement

a consistent goal scorer who's a good finisher and is good off the ball

and a big striker to hold up the ball and score with his head

2 remaining home games are key

if we can pick up a point or two on the rd,then home games should see us thru. but knowing our season we will probably lose to burnley and preston and beat watford away.</p>

swinton red spot on post i agree with all you said, the mossto signing was always a gamble i personally think he has tallent ,.
you dont play for your country if your crap pity some of the fickle few cant see that
I agree with the johnson saga he was looking solid in there but something going off behind closed doors often we dont know, christianson same as .The signing of foster best for a few years all the other signings shear quality ,you have to give it to davey he can get quality in ,look last year when we need to freshen things up cademateri knocking on the door wanting a trial the scott who we signed as he came knocking on the door.someone nameless within the club told me richie was lazy he wouldnt get off his arse and sign fresh blood even though the board had given them money, its obvious now that davey was the right choice .Ido hope now that he as at last got the respect from all the doubters.I have argued his case now for over a year, all i said was give the bloke a chance .By him getting us to the semis and hopefully keeping us up and building a fantastic platform for next year, incidentally remember howard would have been long gone after the 7 nil thrashing by wba if it werent for davey resigning him ,and look now we could get megabucks for him instead of him walking for free.
Swinton red you got it right lets get behind the best young manager at oakwell since Danny Wilson remember the fickle few didnt want him either and look what happened ,lets enjoy our day at wembley and who knows could get another cup shock remember we are the underdogs again come on tarn

    Yes he is fantastic

4 wins in 4 months in the league, just above the relegation places.
Bloody good idea to give him a new 4 year contract eh?

If we go down , then YES

4 wins in 4 months is not fecking good enough.
The FA cup run has glossed over the league form.

    So

Can we assume that you've read every volume of the Encyclopaedia Britannica then? Plenty of facts in there & not a story in sight.

You sound about 8 years old

try reading , it help you to learn and understand things, a book is far more descriptive than a film, a book can take you to places than you can only imagine, reading is one of the greatest gift a person can have.
Try it you might even like it.

    But probably not. (zzz) (zzz)
