what will i get? 60 quid 3 points.....
Others who have been over by that much, what did you get.

39 MPH in a 30............. on a deserted Pogmoor Road on a Sunday morning-£60 and 3 points
I asked for the data and photos because my satnav said I was doing 33-you can't have the data unless you plead not guilty first and go to court-where they can up the fine and the points-it's just a cash cow but you are stuck with it unless you can afford a QC

hardly ever go that fast pal..... + i thought the road i was speedning was a 40 zone.
bobby parked up got me not camera.

RE: 39 MPH in a 30............. I got done for doing 41 in a 30 on a dual carridgewar in Rochdale and got dobbied for £240 and 4pts after the police wouldn't accept my paper licence as it had worn into 2 pieces and therefore went beyond the 28 day period as I had to wait to get a new one. Got done on same road 4 days later for "running a red light" 200yds further on. £60 and another 3pts. Not a cost effective week at work! :'(
Tha needs to keep an eye on them dials on thi dashboard. Comes in very useful tha knows.
Just tell 'em you're a burglar. Plod goes soft on them.

RE: 39 MPH in a 30............. you trust sat-nav? i got mine last week and when i was doing 75, it said 65! dont wanna sound daft, but aint it better to use the speedo on ya clock thingy? the satty thing is 1000s o miles away after all, unless they start to float em lower!
i can beat that i was shagging a bird in rochdale n got caught "speeding", tad more than a few points!
you'll only get offered a fixed penalty £60 and 3 points for doing the speed limit +10% +10mph, so in a 30mph zone that allows you up to 43mph. So yer buggered I'm afraid, unless their feeling festive. Next option is you go to court, up to 6 points and an income related fine. They come down harsh on speeding in a 30 zone..........its there for a reason.
Speedo's arent that accurate Legally they can read 10% over + a further 2.5mph You can calibrate yours using the white posts at the side of the motorway - they are every 100m My current car reads 74mph when its doing 70 (or 138kmh when doing 130 in France) wifes previous car at an exact 70 the was showing 76mph 75 to 65 doesnt look that good though - either speedo is way out of spec or satnav is wrong as well - no idea how accurate they are
Do South Yorks Police offer you the choice of either fine and points or paying to go on a speeding course? Thinks its about £80 or so/ I know a lot of forces give you that option if its you first or recent speeding offence
How fast is reasonable on the motorway? Is it 70+10%+10mph - 87? Only road I ever break limits on, like to cruise at 90. Would I get stopped doing 85-90?
Good question that - I generally stick to the 'anything upto 85 and I'll be fine' chain of thought. Though I have heard police say anything under 90 and they generally wouldnt bother
