I can't see Istvan or Kayo scoring a million this season. That leaves our hopes with Mostto - but what if he struggles to settle or gets injured? Coulson isn't good enough, so then we're stuck with the two big lads. As SM said last season - I'd have a pop at Matt Derbyshire. They've got McCarthy, Santa Cruz, Roberts & Rigters - which surely leaves Derbyshire struggling for a shirt? He'd get 30 goals in this league without breaking into a sweat. I'd also sign Floella Benjamin, Trevor Benjamin, Private Benjamin, Benji the dog, Benny from Crossroads, Big Ben, Ben Dover & Eggs Benedict. Yours in sport, Stevey T.
Coulson Didnt do himself any favours missing from a yard out. He did well to find the space at the far post but he will be gutted. Although it was only a friendly that goal would have been another step forward in his career. Instead he has a few days to dwell on it and hope he gets another chance v Wigan on Tuesday whilst up against far better defenders.
Agreed. I don't think they'll let Benji the dog go. He's far too talented. I think Derbyshire will ask to go out on loan if he's not getting a shirt. I'd offer Blackburn a free conservatory putting on the back of Ewok Park - then get Istvan round to put it up, so to speak.
Not a chance Derbyshire will be first choice on the bench plus plenty of outings from teh start as well if he carries on like last season. Pity though, he's a great talent.
Fair enough. They've paid £3.5m for Santa Cruz. McCarthy is nailed on to start. Roberts was their best striker at the end of last season. Hughes was well chuffed when he beat several teams to the signing of Rigters. I don't think Derbyshire will get a look in. The easy option would be to send him out on loan. Not really bothered about Derbyshire, to be honest. I'd really like to know if we'll sign Floella Benjamin. I'd love to see her in midfield - playing with Big Ted.
