We should have ran back with our tail between our legs after we got rid of Wilson. We wouldnt be in this mess now had we just backed him a little.

I really don't understand some of the praise Robins gets.

The football under him for the most part was absolutely woeful to watch. He had much more backing than either of his next 3 successors did (probably less than Davey though), including Gary O'Connor who was funded directly out of Pat's pocket.

And for what really? The fact that he only got 56 points is masked by the fact that there were 6 worse teams than is that year rather than 3.

If you included cup games, Dave Flitcroft accumulated one extra point in one less games, with considerably less money I'd bet. And the football was better for the most part.

A better manager than Hill, Davey, Flicker and Wilson, arguably. A good Manager? That's debatable to say the least.

Haven't we beaten a poor Scunny side twice this season already? A club that has given the current manager more money and leeway than certainly any other I can remember for the last few years. A manager that's signed an overweight Dawson and Scott fecking Wiseman.

No ta. I'll stick with LJ.

I could name a couple of players LJ has signed who are extremely poor but picking 2 players from any managers signings is too easy and lets be realistic, attracting the top players to S****horpe is gunna be one hell of a job. One player he did sign though, Laird from Preston, a decent left back, something LJ failed miserably at.

I personally dont think he ever got the credit he deserved. He may have had a bit of extra cash compared to Hill/Flicker but he was still operating one of the lowest budgets in the league and took over an absolutely woeful Davey side getting thumped every week to flirting briefly with the play offs. The shape of the team was set up to be hard to beat because we couldnt afford the better technical players in the league, there is no correct way of playing football and it certainly wasnt as bad as is being made out.

Mark Robins the only time I've ever considered jacking in going to Oakwell. Terrible manager dire football.

what matters to me is we werent in relegation trouble under Robins, so even though we were moving sideways he didnt take us backwards at all. things have got a damn sight worse since he was allowed to leave.

We had some of our best ever championship results under him. Leeds at home, Ipswich away. That run where Hammill was on fire between October and November when we up in the top 6. Folk have short memories IMHO.

err we're mid table in a lower league now and dont have as much money, compared to being better off and in a higher league when he was here.

His football was designed to get the best out of what players we could afford and its under him weve been most stable as a side in a decade. Doesnt matter to me how miserable he was, he was the only manager since Ritchie where we have improved as a consequence of the manager and I'd much rather listen to him saying exactly how he feels than LJ talking absolute ******** about 'little triggers on the pitch'.

Id put very large sums of money that if we'd just backed him the little bit he wanted we would be nowhere near the no consistency mid table league one side we are today.

Was it the season before when he took over from Davey, we were getting hammered most weeks and we were pushing for the play offs a few months later, infact wouldnt we have broke in had the Plymouth 4-1 game not been abandoned? Maybe wrong its a while ago

keith hill proved to be an appalling replacement didnt he, and i wonder if cryne has regretted it since not backing robins. the downward spiral that has happened since has cost us and him a lot more in the long run. i dont know exactly what or how much robins was asking for, or whether some personal fall out had happened behind the scenes.

What if Hill had the same backing as Robins (and Davey) had though?
