"The table was constructed by looking at the highest rates of drinkers who have needed hospital treatment." I know no more than that.
I'm surprised Oldham isn't higher up the list. I've had a few nights out over there and I can't remember a night when I didn't see trouble.
How safe?! Obviously a small sample size but I've been to a few pubs and that there before / after gigs & football in the past and think I've seen fights every time. Only place I've seen worse is wakefield On another note, I really enjoyed your podcasts never said in the thread
I've had man flu since the night I uploaded that last one. I feel like I've been on a bad night out in Middlesbrough and had Tyson Fury kicking the **** out of me. But then, if you're a bloke I'm sure you'll understand just how difficult a time it is when suffering with man flu. I'm doing well to be typing in all honesty.
You're doing well to still be alive. Us men know what a near death experience manflu is. I'm sure your gert is showing an incredible amount of empathy to your plight. They're so lucky they don't have to go through it. Tis horrific. You keep well mate.
I certainly don't feel safe there on a night out. In fact I would say that is by far the worst place I have ever been out. Obviously, being guys most of you won't experience this directed towards you, but the amount of guys who've shouted absolutely obscene things at me across the street/said obscene things to me in pubs is ridiculous. I have gone home early many times from Bradford after being grabbed and harassed. Never have I felt the need to do that when I've been out anywhere else. Edit: before anyone starts, yes, sometimes I am wearing short items of clothing, other times I have been wearing jeans and a nice top (not low cut).
Shocked at Huddersfield not being on the list as just about every monday the Huddersfield Examiner has a front page story from saturday night or the early hours of sunday morning of an alleged sexual assault, shooting, stabbing, someone being knocked out etc. It's got so bad it's recently been brought in that a number of drinking places can breathalyse you before letting you in. This past monday the story was of an alleged sexual assault early sunday morning when a young lady was on her own after a night out with friends. Cross Church Street which is like Wellington Street for bars/clubs/takeaways but with a taxi rank isn't a particularly nice place to be around 2-5 am on a sunday morning. Good to see Barnsley not on there. No surprise really as nothing really seems to happen on saturday nights. You see the occasional idiot being dealt with, but I think the police presence around as a precaution so they can be straight there if anything kicks off, is a good idea.
I have to say, I've always felt safe in Barnsley. The only times I've had anything said to me has been banter really or just usual trying it on but always in a completely non-threatening way.
I'm sure that Lewisham and similar parts of South and East London are the worst since they're not really safe in the daytime.
