Is this a record in one season? Can't remember that happening before, either:

    1. The academy's got better.
    2. We can't afford to buy in players who were traditionally better than most of the academy players, and this will continue in the close season.

I'm going with option 2. Traditionally we seem to produce a player every couple of years who looks like they'll be good enough for the Championship, most end up in Div1 or 2 or get chucked. On that basis we've signed 5 div1/2 players.

I might be wrong, I hope its option 1 and I know we've had some good results this year notably against Man U and Arsenal, and I'm not blaming anyone for the situation, just observing what looks like a sign we're skint.

Option 1 for me, its improved. I go to watch them fairly regularly and the standard this season has been fantastic. The football he's got them playing is great to watch, but alongside that there's 7/8 real standout players who could go far, 6 of them we've signed up to pro deals.

They are getting signed becuase they are good players.

the second years (eg not digby) have been known to have been a talented group for a number of years u15 , u16, 18.

this they cant be good becuase we havent had good footballers befores just rubbish. compareing them to nathen jarmans ect just disrespectful to the current group.

You`re fetching this young crop through well Hemmsy keep it up.

But you are being disrespectful to previous youngster at the academy and their coaches and those who fetched them to the club and the club and managers for giving them Professional contracts.

That's really encouraging news then, something to look forward to at least! Lets hope they get a chance to prove themselves soon.

They are good players you're right. But weve had a lot of good players in the academy before who didn't make the transition into first teamers. Is that because they were worse than the current crop? I don't believe so. I believe it is because we simply refuse to give our youngsters a proper chance and loan players from other clubs instead. Robins did it, Davey did it, in fact most of our managers in the last 10 or 15 years have done it. Sadly it appears the QuickQuid Hill does it as well so i'm not holding out much hope for the academy lads we've got at the moment.

The voice of experience has spoken. Just when we think you're maturing a bit and we agree with the odd point, you come out with a bunch of bananas like that. Get out of my sight! In fact, get to bed - you're grounded!

Hopefully KH will be giving them a chance next year.

Jay Mac has said as much in his Player interview at swindon.

Maybe thats why he's brought loan players in now to get us through to the end of this season with the youngsters starting next season.
