The best new album I've heard is 'Fresh Blood' by Matthew E White. He was pretty decent live as well.

There's some seriously good stuff on the Natalie Prass self titled debut album but it contains a few mediocre tracks as well. I also found her pretty annoying live despite the fact that I'd like to rude things to her.

The actual, correct answer is Sufjan Stevens 'Carrie & Lowell'; to 2015 what 'Morning Phase' was to 2014. Do I win 'owt?

    The Charlatans - Modern Nature
    Gaz Coombes - Matador
The Cribs - For all my sisters
    Blur - The Magic Whip
    Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Multi-love

Accusations of being stuck in the past aside, I've been unimpressed with very few 'new' bands or music yet have really enjoyed the above, especially the first two by two of my favourite artists.

Honourable mention to Django Django for Born under Saturn

I don't think you can call Magnolia Melancholia an album, more an EP or mini-album.
