Let's hope Davies doesn't get injured!. Do we really want to beat Derby and add another fixture....albeit a trip to Wembley?
Personally not bothered by the Cup. Even if it is a Wembley trip against a very good Spurs side. As it will be played mid week I would not be able to make it anyway due to work so would just be a pointless fixture to me anyway.
Very busy month ahead but hopefully an enjoyable one. Personally I would love a win against Derby for the trip to Wembley even though we would most likely lose against Spurs. A win against Derby would do confidence no harm for starters. Will be a test for the squad so rotation will be needed; hopefully we will see Fryers, Cavaré, Yiadom and Isgrove back in contention to boost competition for places soon so that no-one feels safe with their place in the team.
I was thinking the same and then it struck me that I was getting a bit complacent about going to Wembley as a Barnsley fan. Who'd have thought it. Possibly 5 trips in 17 years or 3 in 18 months.
If it was a weekend tie I would have been desperate to beat Derby as my best mate from uni is a Spurs fan so I could have gone down and watched it with him and would have been ideal. But I just don't think I can make it all that way down on a Wednesday
In my view, it's an ideal opportunity to give Nick Townsend and others who are on the fringes some game time against senior opposition. Also it presents the chance for Hecky to see who from those he tries out, could fit in to his future League game plans.
