Dosn't sound like a bad price to me. (According to BBC. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8076956.stm) How much did we pay for him?
I beieve it was around £200k, made a decent profit from him, sorry to see him go like but he's too good to be an unused substitute.
And £600k for Howard thus paying for the £1.2million for Hume. Forgetting the Cup money. And the increase in TV money this year, and parachute bonus from Brum being promoted. Financial prudence in football today is a rare thing.
Remembering that the cost per game (for season ticket holders) of watching us play has dropped significantly, all things being considered, I dont think we can complain to be honest. Ok, we shouldnt have been involved in a relegation battle last season, but not many of the sides in the top half of the Championship have been to Wembley in a Cup Semi Final either. My glass is half full, again. Bring on the new season.
RE: Remembering that A mid table finish may have seen the club just freeze the price of season tickets. Fans would have been satisfied with the progress and the £20 or so decrease, nice though it is, would have not needed to be implemented this season to encourage fans to renew or the 2 free pre season games from which we will now forego the revenue. Davey needs to put entertainment and results on the table this season for the fans to feed on I personally think its too tall an order for him.
