Its not difficult to estimate it to be honest. Add Wright to that and the GK coach and its a lot more too.
He cost us £75,000 in compo from Oldham. I can't see it costing us 8 times that to get shut. Mr Cryne has sacked higher earning managers, lots in fact, and for much better results.
So we have to pay his full contract up?! If that's true whoever wrote it like that wants sacking an all
But that's surely the point isn't it? Because given our dreadful track record, it is going to be harder and harder to recruit quality managers without ever more punitive regimes. Barnsley and Leeds United are now renowned through football for their incredible hire and fire records; and so consequently, if you were a manager joining those clubs - wouldn't you make sure you had a great compensation package?
Just a Barnsley fan I know.I don't usually believe stuff like that but I do this time, if he would have been sacked it would have been weeks ago.
£600,000 though? He's not far off a year in the job, so are we saying he's on about £20,000 a month? I was told on Saturday that the reason we got Crowley ahead of Huddersfield was because we agreed to pay 50% of his wages - £20,000 a month. That's ******** as well, surely? Please let it be ********.
Dunno about the amounts mate, I agree they sound extremely high - I guess I'm just making the point that every time we continue with the hair trigger hire and fire regime it makes it harder/more expensive to recruit the next time.
Is he not on a rolling contract though? and therefore only have to pay him up until the end of the season. It may have well been for 3 years but surely its rolling like we have done with other managers over the years? or did we just throw all our eggs in one basket I wonder.
Either your maths or mine isnt very good If he has 2 years left on his contract that is 300K per year not 150K surely - or 6K per week - I will be very surprised if we are paying him that. And even more surprised if we have given him a guaranteed payout no matter how badly he performs Still even 600K is bearable if you consider the costs of another relegation
As Crosstyke says. There must have been some performance measures in his contract. Perhaps that is why he is still with us as he still have time to meet his performance objectives for 2015/6. As,soon as it becomes mathematically impossible for him to achieve a top 6 finish then perhaps club can dismiss him for nothing. However, this is pure speculation. Only the board and LJ and perhaps his lawyer know the terms of his contract. He seems to be made of Teflon though!
If that is true then Cryne and Mansford need to do the honourable thing and resign. Absolutely shocking! I reiterate if true though. It may be Carp
