No boycott but they must feel cheated. It makes me want Hull to sink without trace. Where is this farce going to end?
absolutely disgusting if that's the case, its time fans took a serious stand against this robbery that's going on
It is disgraceful, no doubt. But in a game with little riding on it for Arsenal (apart from cementing second), on a Monday night, they've still pretty much sold out their allocation. So up to three thousand fans have paid that amount or whatever concession price was available for some. Good on them for holding up that banner in protest, but such actions are futile if you still pay £64 to get in the ground in the first place. The ONLY way ticket prices will come down is if fans en-masse stop paying the prices.
They just don't get it do they. Fans are being mugged off left, right and centre yet they are the most influential group and could do something about it if they were prepared to take action. Sadly the powers in football know that half hearted protest is as far as it will ever go so they'll make all the right noise safe in the knowledge that they can carry on milking the cash cow for as long as they want. I don't want to sound unsympathetic or like I'm not on the side of fans but until they are prepared to actually do something about this massive rip off nothing will change. They (we) can influence this but collectively we won't.
Just another one of the reasons why i wouldnt like to see us back in the premiership. I set my top limit as to what i will pay for a game of football around the 26-27 quid mark. If we went back up to the prem, i may as well pack it all in because every game will be more than i am prepared to pay.
Absolutely true. The chairmen will happily had a group of fans holding up a banner about ticket prices because they know that the fans won't stay away. They can laugh at it. They probably do.
Because a few thousand have been daft enough to sell out the away end at that price it only means Dull if they stay up will increase the price for them next season. Basically thinking they are undercharging because tickets are still selling out. Supply and demand.
Saddest thing is that when a club like Arsenal are playing, you'll get tourists from all over the world willing to pay to watch them, and the allocation gets sold time after time and prices remain sky high. The consequence of this is that the traditional, local working class supporter is priced out in favour of affluent people from China, Japan, Singapore, Arabia and the US who are on their holidays. A Premier League game effectively becomes like a trip to Madame Tussauds. I'm not sure how I'd feel if we got to the Premier League and we saw those kind of visitors to Oakwell en masse. I'd love to be welcoming to people from all across the world who wanted to visit my town and watch my team, but if it meant the club were able to push prices so high that Dave, a bloke on minimum wage from Athersley, couldn't come, but the stadium was full anyway with tourists, it would leave a very sour taste.
Who is the guilty party. arsenal are one of the clubs charging a fortune for home and away fans. Other club reaction is to charge the same. arsenal fans will just pay because they are used to it. arsenal needed a win to cement a champs league place so not a dead rubber for them and Hull need points to stay up. Critical game for both. There is a general issue with prices in UK football, can't blame one team in their response. If I was Hull's management I would charge double what Arsenal charged for away fans. Unless the FA act, clubs won't. We all know what FA will do........FA.
I took my little lad to watch man city a few backs ago and it was exactly like this - a tourist attraction.
It aint right but cant remember any threads throughout the season shaming Arsenal and their ticket pricing. Just cos its not one of the top few clubs it all of a sudden becomes shocking.
