more than that i would of thought there bringing 7,500, east stand will be full another 7.500, ponty will be full 4500 than quite a few in west stand 19,000+ i think.

It is ridiculous that we have, again, given them that section of the West Stand….let's make it like a home game for them shall we….so our players come out of the tunnel with opposition fans at both sides of them!

i dont agree with it either i would rather them just have some of west stand and us have north stand, dont think we could fill north stand east stand, ponty and half of west stand though /poo

    So Are You........

going to make up the loss of revenue from having seats empty that could be filed ? I love it giving them the west stand for better atmosphere and a very good six figure sum in extra revenue for us to spend. Considering we got 20,000 in league 1 when we were both doing crap, we are now both in a league above and they have found form etc. I would say 21,000 at least will be there. The timing will add to the crowd because it gives people a chance to go watch a south yorkshire derby over christmas.

How many seats do we have that need filing? Shoddy workmanship really, I'd have thought all the edges would have been smoothed off when the seats were installed.

Be 21'000 or so I would imagine. Christmas / New Year period so if people are wanting to choose between Burnley or Wedneday then Wednesday would win everytime.

Hmmm.... we wont sell the tickets, Wednesday will so that's 1,500 @ £20 = £30,000. Aye we can turn that down !!

Fair enough, and I see your point. But is an additional £30k worth the additional hostile atmosphere for our players when they come out of the tunnel when, if anyone, it should be their players receiving that kind of welcome from the crowd. I'm sure that should we lose we'll consider £10k a point to be worth it!

For a club in our financial position £30K is a lot of money. The initial impact of Wednesday's fans will be short lived as they run towards the centre circle. It's up to us then to make the atmosphere and drown them out.

If the 7'500 fans are anything like the 20'000 they had at home this year then they won't make much noise!!!!! Very poor fans when we played them (until the 90th min)

    Completly agree Eaststander.

Anyone else on here think that we should use the North Stand instead of the Ponty? On games like this and many other games straight away it must sometimes feel like an away game when players step out surrounded by opposition fans.

Imagine the stick one of players get if a sending off happens by their fans.

I think it’s something to consider at least at he end of the season. Or at least put them al in the West Stand and give us the North but then what happens with Season ticket holders.

19,000 but given out as 16,000

Similar to the last fixture at Oakwell with them, exactly where were those thousands of spare seats?

Let them have the north and half the west. I can't wait to see oakwell full again+it's good money for us! If more people in Barnsley would get their arse to oakwell then we wouldn't have to put away fans in the west stand!!

If we can't fill the remaining 15500 seats then there is something wrong! Everybody get to oakwell and fill the east upper and lower, ponty end and the west upper and lower (our half of it) and make the ground rock!! We should be louder than the folws anyway. BRING IT ON - Can't wait to see it full, the Leeds game should have been really!!
