Dead right, Ponty. Two cracking results against Swindon and the Gills. Maybe (just maybe) we shouldn't change our present system or sell one of our best players after all?
Are we getting to the stage of someone complaining that the scoreboard hasn't been replaced? Or the concourses haven't been painted? Our the bird **** on seat k62 hasn't been cleaned off? Sack the board... Sack the academy set up... Sack the car park attendants....
Very true some posters appear to have gone missing scince the gills win. don't worry though fail to win against donny and they will be back.
You can only say how well we played in the last game a couple of times before you start getting boring. The majority of us did that. You'd have to be mean spirited and a bit of a perfectionist to argue with what most of us saw - a good game of football. When the majority of us agree, there's nothing to discuss. When we lose, we all have different theories about what went wrong and what we should do to make it right. Different opinions lead to lots of discussion. On top of that, the transfer window is shut, we've more loan players than we're allowed to play and there are no rumours about other teams nicking our players, so no news there. I think we're all looking forward to the next game. I wouldn't change the starting 11 and I doubt many others would. For the first time in a long time the side looks balanced. I'd argue we're still not playing as good football as we did in the first few months under Wilson, but we were just as likely to lose 4-2 then as win 3-0. With Scowen and Pearson in the side instead of just Bailey we now look more solid. A settled team and good results leaves us with little to say other than 'keep it up'.
Errrm..........don't know about that. I for one, and I know there were others, were saying - although we are winning - we are still not playing very well........we are just not clicking. Obviously we got slated for these comments - because winning is all that matters to some - they cant see further than their nose. But lo and behold.........Tommy Wright said more or less the same ie. that we are still not playing as well as we could.
Id be unhappy wed lost but if the green shoots are showing then ill retain some optimism. Yet to produce a solid 90 minute game against a team who will shut up shop and play 1-9-1 but the last home game was better. Follow that up saturday with the same attitude not the blackpool game attitude and we are looking at a good run.
To be fair I've always had those criticisms whether we are winning or losing due to the obvious fact that it is a different set of employees in charge of first team football than those in charge of match day hospitality which despite what some people would have you believe DOES extend to the thousands of customers outside of the executive boxes
YEEEEEEEEES 7 POINTS FROM 9 GET IN THEEEERRREEEE LEE JOHNSON'S RED AND WHITE ARMY, LEE JOHNSON'S RED AND WHITE ARMY, WE'RE ABSOLUTELY CLASS EVERY LITTLE THING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT HE'S GOT A PLAAAAANTPOOOT ON HIS HEAD AND IT'S BAAAAAARNSSSSEEELLLY, BAAAAAAARRRRNNNSSSEEELLLY FC, WE'RE BY FAR THE GREATEST TEAM THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEEN WE'RE GOING TO BATTER THE PIKEYS SATURDAY THE WHEELS ON YOUR HOUSE GO ROUND AND ROUND UUUUUUU RREEEEEEEDDDDSSSSS! That better?
The stats support your point. With Bailey's clean sheet % at a lowly 32. Whereas Scowen and Pearson fair better with 38% and 40% respectively. That said, we won 63% of the games Bailey started whereas Scowen and Pearsons win rate when starting is at 46% and 45% respectively. His points per game tops theirs too at 1.64 against 1.59 and 1.53. Finally...something to discuss.
I pay good money for K92, the least they could do is send someone round on a Friday afternoon to scrape the bird dirt off, give it a quick polish, leave me a complementary match day programme and 50/50 ticket and ensure that J92 has been relocated so I have extra leg room. Is that too much to ask? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Well the bloke who puts the programme there should clean it again... And while he is there be can lay a piece if carpet underneath so your feet stay warm. And place a hot water bottle on the seat.... Bloody lazy if you ask me
Just human nature isn't it? You've only got to watch Prime Minister's Questions / BBC Question Time or News programs. Things that are going well aren't worth debating because err, there's nothing to debate or improve on. There will be a better, more articulate way of saying that but you get the idea.
There's nowt wrong with that point of view Nudger. The football could certainly be better, but it is improving, we definitely are looking more solid and results are looking up. Last two home games have been much more enjoyable than the majority under Johnson. It's not there yet, but it's getting there. We'll still play badly and we'll still lose some games, we're a young team with inconsistencies, but I'm pleased with the way we're progressing at the moment.
