If there were only 3,000 Boro fans in a stand that holds 6,000 then I'd love to see where the 3,000 spare seats were.
I could have sworn they announced 2,900 odd. **** PA in our end of the Ponty though. I still couldn't see 2,200 empty seats though.
I think the directors will finally have got the message in relation to the affect a run of results like the second half of last season has on the morale of the fans. I haven't bought a ST and its the first time in years. Its going to require a massive effort now to get those fans back..........those fans that have been drifting away because season after season we have been stuck in the bottom 6. Can't blame those fans........they love Barnsley Football Club as much as anyone but they are not prepared to sit and watch their club being defeated match after match. Its just soul destroying.
They didn't turn up in the first half of the season when we were doing pretty well, and had some great wins,I think the cost of football is just too high for many people now, especially in a fairly depressed area.Fortunately our season tickets are reasonably priced, but at full match pay on the gate prices we wouldn't be able to attend all that many on my income,I want to go to Leeds away, but Bates's pricing policy just takes the p**s out of the working family......I won't be attending. I don't think we'd have more than a couple of thousand extra even if we were in the top ten,I don't have any answers to the problem, but I have to say if you aren't prepared to support your team in adversity, that is if you have the finances.....then perhaps you're not a true supporter...better to watch Man U. on TV every week!! PS genuinely not a dig at you Nudger!!
