Continuity ! ! Thats what great sporting sides is all about. All Blacks, Brazil, Australia ........................... etc.</p> England were a great footballing side in the 50s and 60s. It culminated in the 66 final triumph, but we did sod all after that and are still trying to live up to that era.</p> England Rugby continually progressed and improved, and with hindsight everyone knew that it would culminate in 2003 success. But what were the plans for after ?</p> English cricket got REALLY good when Vaughan / Fletcher assembled a decent side. They had a tremendous run (people forget some of the series wins in Vaughans early days) and again, all this was geared up to ....... what ? ..... the 2005 Ashes. We won them, and have done what since ?</p> Every English sporting team seems to build towards one goal, then go on the piss and forget about any future planning.</p>
