Such short memories and a poor response from so called supporters. Pikeys are going down with 3 premiership players and pompey have been thrashed at home.

Watched the sheff wed match today, and noticed how bad the quality was in league one. Though to my self how well we done this season to be were we are with lower leauge players. So I'm happy we WILL stay up and hopefully next season if we have less injurys will build on this season getting about 55 points!

It's not just the one nil defeat to big spending Ipswich... It's he one nil defeat to no spending Coventry and palace, the hammering by the little spending reading,The two nil whimper at Doncaster, the continual second half collapses. Thirteen points this year.

Correct. I fail to see how anyone can stick up for this team, manager or performances. I said it last week a 1v0 win against Pboro is nowt to shout about.

Yeah I know, 50% possession, nine shots, 5 on target.

    Completely unacceptable away at Ipswich.

Theres only one stat that counts in football mate. Carry on being Mr Positive. We will see who turns out to be the better judge. Time will tell and my bet is that there's some desperate times ahead for us reds fans. And it isn't much fun at the minute so I think you know whats coming. No Vaz Te and Butts to carry us next season!

I'm not necessarily overly positive, but I guess I'm not quite as pessimistic as some.

And of course, for a club like ours, the possibility of relegation to the third tier would be an outright disaster I suppose? Dear me I wish some people had either a memory, or somebody around to tell them about the club's history.

People on here seem to think that the club has a devine right to be in the championship. Every bit as deluded, and arrogant, as the Wendy's and the Leeds lot.

In fact, the arrogance you are displaying, assuming you know for a fact what will happen to the club next season, and more than anyone else, might even exceed the thoughts of the supporters of the supposed european mega clubs of Yorkshire.

Which club holds the record for playing most seasons in the second tier of English football. Thats our history. Enough said.

How many times have the 12th placed club spent over £10m on players before? That's the present. Enough said.

True but 60s and 70s were largely spent in lowest in lowest division and given state of local economy at present staying in Championship would be a good achievement. New investment would be helpful but its time to get behind the team as we did last Saturday.

It's not just about money. The problem we have is the manager. A club with limited resources needs every bit of help it can get. I was watching the reds in the Jim Iley days when the club was at the bottom of the old fourth division. We didn't have any money to splash out then either. But we had a chairman who was clever. He brought in Allan Clarke who then used his contacts in the game to revitalise the club. Suddenly we had quality players joining because they wanted to be part of something special. Contrast that to what we have today...a manager whose contacts in the game are a bunch of average players from the bottom two tiers of English football. How is that going to help us? I agree that it's difficult, but you have to make the right appointments. Do you think PC has got any of the managerial appointments right since he took charge? You say that I am pessimistic by showing my frustration but then you say we are playing above our true position in English football. I'm confused. Who is the most pessimistic now? Burnley and Blackpool showed what can be done by getting the right managerial teams in charge at clubs no bigger than ours. And I for one will never stop believing that we cant go up again.

The standard of the Championship is so different now, the quality in this league is unreal at times. We can't compete financially, it's Keith Hill's first season in charge and we've survived which was his objective. You say he's brought a load of average players in, yet these are the players that have kept us up. You also say he lacks contacts, yet I'm pretty sure you've got no idea whatsoever who his contacts in the game are. Both those clubs built then had great seasons, and credit to them, they are to the exceptions and not the rule. If you expect us to do anything like that then I suggest you start following a different club. For every Blackpool, there's a Sheffield United.

Wellsie, good reply. But lets not forget that football is about opinions. These players haven't kept us up. Vaz Te, Butterfield and Drinkwater are the main reasons that we have the points. KH hasn't replaced any of those players. If we stay up this season and KH gets his current crop of players to stay up next season then I think you might have a point. That said if you really think this squad can keep us up next season then thats another point that we disagree on.
At the end of the day we all support the same club and I presume have the same ambitions. It's just that we don't agree how to achieve those.
