A bit of a northern 'landmark' needs identifying. any clues?

    Someone I know from down south says that whenever they go up north (to manchester) they pass some big chimneys while driving on a major road (possibly motorway).</p>

    The only info i've got is that they think they're near a large shopping centre and are possibly red chimneys.</p>

    I'm thinking we're talking Tinsley? But the red bit is throwing me off, are there any others that they might pass?</p>

    More likely to go up the M6, and I cant think of any red chimneys on there either
