Sorry i cant remember the year
    But It was against Sunderland
I must tell i was Driving for tracky on afters
the Day Saturday of course, was Cold and very cloudy
in fact over cast, and it promised to snow all day
But it did not until the game started
i was on duty for the Royston Fans , a free ticket tto the game for me
as i said it was cold ,wet not windy but dull
    a corwdof 2,000,big i those happy days
the second half of the game,
    snowing gently and sticking
not a sou; in the kop end,
we are took coerv ,huddled to gether to keep warm
i was at the backof the ponty end
,you could not tell, one siide from the other
we sall the footballers come back to the centre spot
we argued ,they had scored,no they havent, then the sides moved towards the Kop end,
and then came back and kicked off again,
more arguments,ah telled thee the dint score,
    but they must have nah
    then it happend again
you could ot tell one side from other, then back to the centre spot again
Honstly we did not know ,or care who scored,
    then it was fulltime,
any it turned cloughie had got a hatrick
the weather never got any better or worse
i took the royston club home
my next trip was the Last bus to Ardsley
in the cold and snow and Drucken ,ardlsley kendray iets
    but thats another story
    RIP DON LEESON
    Funeral to day

Hi Bob sure it was'nt Middlesbro ? Cloughie played for Middlesborough when he got lamed. My mate Edwin Holiday played with him and later was bought by Wednesday.
Edwin was from Royston and still lives there as far as I know.

He scored about 250 goals in not many more matches. Played most of games for Middlesbrough, went to Sunderland in very early 60's and was injured after a couple of seasons. He had his league debut against us in the 50's.
