I keep reading on here that we need to sign an experienced centre half and that was Hill's biggest failing. Edwards and Cranie are both centre halves with a lot of Championship experience, so for me this wouldn't necessarily be an immediate priority. A new manager might come in and be able to use the resources we have to much better effect and get the defence organised and solid. Edwards suffered with injuries and hasn't had much of a look in, but there may have been a personality clash and Keith didn't go with him. He played regularly when Blackpool got promoted so the lad's got ability - another manager might be able to get the best out of him... Edwards, Cranie, Foster, Stones, Hassell, Wiseman, Golbourne, McNulty, Kennedy - seems a decent defensive squad and a good coach should be able to put together a solid back four out of that lot. Just checked on BFC website and Edwards isn't even listed as being in the squad; have I missed summat, is he still on loan at Fleetwood or been released from his contract?
A classic mistake by Keith Hill...........signs Edwards and makes him captain...........then never plays him. I do agree with you that a better manager/coach can muster a decent back 4 out of what we have.
