Just an idea but.... Would a change to the points scoring system reduce some boring 0-0 games and add to the excitement of a game? How about moving to 4 points for a win, 2 for a score draw and 1 for a no score draw... Would certainly lean towards a more attacking game, better for the watching crowds, shake the table positions up as well.
Maybe 2 points for an away draw would encourage home sides to attack. Or just do it the old Yugoslavian (IIRC) way - if a draw at the end of normal time you have a penalty shoot-out. Winner takes all.
Didn't Brazil do the penalty shoot out to settle draws at one time too? The team that won the shoot out got an extra point meaning that there were three points awarded in every match regardless of the outcome (you either won and got three or drew and got one or two depending on your post-match shoot out performance). Not particularly in favour of a change to the points system though, just don't see the need for it. I'm also not convinced that we're overwhelmed by 0-0 draws.
Good defending is as much a part of football as attacking play. Don't agree that more weight should be given to one over the other.
