I thought we might be looking for a new manager if we'd reproduced that first half performance in the second. Not sure our new dynamic board of directors would have stood for being on the telly and looking so **** while languishing in the relegation zone. I don't think I've ever seen a player go through a whole half of football and not touch the ball before. David Fox didn't get within 10 yards of it did he?

Second half was a different kettle of fish altogether thanks in no small part to Jim O'Brien, who put in his best performance since he's been at the club. Pity he couldn't win the game for us with that second chance. His work rate deserved it. Plenty of other good performances too in that second period and we should have won the game. When are we going to play equally well in both halves? Very frustrating.

Fair enough, McCourt was knackered, so why not bring on Cywka? Yet again we were overly cautious with the substitution and from being in complete control of the game we had to suffer a pretty scary last few minutes instead of pushing on and trying to win it. I'm still supporting you Flicker, but I really can't weigh up what you're thinking with some of your subs. If you carry on doing the same thing it might cost you your job because every week we look like we're going to throw away whatever we've worked so hard for and to me that stems entirely from the substitutions. Sort it out mate as I believe the team you've put together has potential.

MOTM rightly went to O'Brien, but I'd also like to praise M'Voto who did a fine job. Big question for me though is who was beard of the match?

I agree with every thing you say there, Jay. As for the beards, there was a little discussion on it during the game: http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?198609-The-problem-at-Barnsley-is

Call me old-fashioned (I know I'm asking for it now), but the bearded ones all look dreadful to me. What's going on with them? If it's some sort of "fashion statement", I hope it goes the way of pedal-pushers. And quickly!

If it is a fashion statement it hasn't got any further than Oakwell. Hopefully it'll be contained. We need to set up a perimeter guarded by dogs.

We look a right load of beatniks at the moment. Though I've always said that the beard was the source of all Jimbo's powers...
