Last 5 league games, won 2,lost2 and drawn 1.The transfer window is a month not a day.Oh sorry a 3rd point, why do certain posters only come on the board to slag Davey off after a defeat but don;t come on to praise him after a win?
BMW, I respect your views. You obviously have the club's interests at heart and always give reasoned views without the general hysteria that often exists on this board. However, even you have to admit that we are again in the relegation mire because Simon Davey just cannot pick a striker? I said at the start of the season that we did not have the necessary firepower. Hume was decent signing, not a great one and certainly not at 1.2 million. His injury has caused us problems there's no doubt but his decision to persevere with Odejayi instead of getting rid in the summer is going to cost him (and us) dear. Then when we go out and sign a striker on loan from a Prem club we end up with Rigters????
Thanks for your response omb and your comments.Although like yourself I realize the fact that we need more potent strikers I don't get the knee jerk reaction because we didn't sign players on the 1st of Jan.S.D's next 2or3 signings will probably be the most important of his managership and he needs to get it right.
A couple of left sided players (who are actually left footed) wouldn't go amiss either. Davey seems to have some kind of aversion to left footed players?
BMW I don't agree with some people referring to the "preverbial kneejerk". This so called kneejerk has been ongoing since August last year when fans were crying out for a quality striker. Yes, he did go out and buy Hume but following the unfortunate incident, it was expected by many that he would find a suitable replacement. I have never been convinced of his ability to forward think and put into place a plan B. OR C. OR D. after the failure of plan A. One of the finer qualities of any managemer is having the skill to recognise underachievment and repond accordingly. In my opinion his Lack of insight will have negetive consequeces for this club and that we will live to regret it.
