A couple of views on Terry Butcher from Motherwell

"Absolute hero, but had done all he could have with us and moved on at the right time. Surprised but pleased with he job he's done at ICT, but im not sure he'd be capable of doing what a club like Barnsley would be looking for. Would you have given him the time ICT have? Hard to believe that even just 4 months ago the ICT fans were campaigning for him to be punted.

"he was the right man at the right time for us and did a good job. the way he left the club wasn't ideal but he'll go down in club history as a good guy.

as a manager he likes to keep things simple. he'll play a back four with the fullbacks tucked in and will always look to get the ball forward early (not necessarily long ball, just no fannying about). in the transfer market it seems like he'll sign anybody, he got us and ict some gems but also plenty of duds.

talks a power of pish in the press and seems to be getting worse with age. if i've heard his last hilarious bbc interview with chick young then i'll be a happy man."
