Further to Alfie's award last month, more great work from the big man: http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news...g-after-brain-surgery-1-7555280#axzz3qgWervGx
The fact that we have such an evidently genuine, warm hearted and grounded bloke captaining our club is the only thing that I've been happy about this year. He might not be the best player in the world, but id say he's certainly not bad, and he never can be accused of lacking effort or heart. One shining light in a dark season, is Mr Mawson. A credit to the club, himself, his family, even football. The club does involve itself in the local community quite well, I see the keepers have been to the hospice, no more than should be done but I'm not sure stuff like that always used to happen - or if other clubs do the same to the same level. I'd like to think so. There's more to life than football. It would be nice to win a game though. Any time before Christmas lads...
Love this bit: Mr Mawson said: “Us Alfies have to stick together, and it’s clear he’s a fighter. He loves the club and he’s having a tough time - it doesn’t cost anything to check on how he’s doing, and he obviously enjoys beating me, so why not?” Read more: http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news...g-after-brain-surgery-1-7555280#ixzz3qkAYP2db
