is there any reason a draw isn't the best result? Peterborough would still need a win to stay up (their goal difference means they would go up if they had the same points as us anyway). And it would mean wednesday could stil go down which is another team needing a result next week. I may be wrong because i'm not great at maths!
The problem with a draw, compared to a Sheff Wed win, is that it would mean a draw next week wouldn't necessarily be enough for us.
For things to be in our own hands A win for Wednesday mean that we stay up if we win or draw. A draw means we need a win. Our goal difference is the worst of all the teams at the bottom
Actually things are in our own hands whatever happens in this game. If we beat Huddersfield we finish above them, Wolves and Bristol City.
No if PSH win they go above us and w go back into relegation spot Ah spotted my mistake gotya. No I was right first time if we lose and PSH and wolves win all their games we go down (I think)
Much as I'd enjoy that, I think any team that gets relegated on 57 points can count themselves as very unlucky!
LOL its all heady stuff innit matey This is Barnsley FC , this is what is involved supporting/following whatever you want. We are like that Spec Saver advert... " What Kinda Cheese was That"... we seem to never wanna get off the white knuckle rides.
Sorry BR but I don't think things are in totally in our hands no matter what. If Wolves win their last game and we lose at Huddersfield Wolves will finish above us.
That's not really what "in our own hands" means though, is it? We're not safe but we're not relying on anyone else either - we "just" have to win our own games.
"If we lose" and "in our hands" aren't really the same thing. See my reply to Aussie Ade (just as he figured it out himself I think). Blimey it's hard work this.
To be fair to you, while you were at the match I've spent the afternoon staring at the league table. I'll still be able to see it when I close my eyes to try to sleep tonight.
