M40 for example..is it fecked?

Plus is anyone stopping over? We're staying in a B&B in town.

Dont know if this is any help to you, but simon davey said to the players half way through training that they themselves werent setting off until 4.15 or some time around that. Dont exactly know what he means as i havent a clue how long it takes to get down there or anything,

So setting off at 5 might not be that bad? just thought id put it past you mate.

A few will be staying in Buxton tomorrow

As the Revvie P's are getting wed in Buxton on Sat..

Look for a bespectacled, bald larger gentleman at the match or in the Boozer afterwards - that will be me.

Yeah but - Harrow is setting off from LONDON - not Barnsley!

I've got a bet on with him that he doesn't make it in time for kick-off - first round's on him if he doesn't!

    M1 - Friday tea-time? Not a prayer.... :D

A nice bit of planning there!

He should be able to hear you long before he sees you!

Think the M40 looks OK according to AA roadwatch

Still, might be a struggle. **** it, pubs will be open and Monkeys in Manchester on Setdi. Won't be a wasted journey.

Conceding the bet already, eh? hee....

Only problem with the M40 route is getting round Brum. Think M1 would probably be your best bet, but it's pot-luck
on a Friday evening. You should do it easy in 3 hours, but if not - just let us know which boozer you're in! :)

Couple of hours via the M62/M1/Chesterfield/Bakewell route, Freya...

... or approx 90 minutes if you go via Stockport and over the tops and A6.

Come and join us if you can! Alternatively, Rovrum on Setdi??

    Pubs in Buxton

Shopping area (Spring Gardens and environs) really badly stocked for pubs.
High Street is not a shopping street really but is far better stocked for boozers.
Get on your favourite map site and make sure you end up in the right spot.
From what appears to be the town centre, it is not immediately obvious.

Eagle, Kings head, Sun in at one end, the Vic, Swan, Cheshire Cheese at the other - all respectable boozers. Will hopefully see some familiar faces.

Harrow: As it will be my last night of freedom can you bob into the Axe in Shoreditch and bring me some pressies up?

Harrow has most of the phone numbers of the "pressies" in the Axe so he should be able to sort it for you.

Just to REALLY cheer you up

Last Friday my mate and I left the same hotel in Swiss Cottage at 9.15am.

By 12.45pm I was at my desk in Moortown, Leeds. My mate didn't get home to Bolton until 6.45pm. He went up the M40.

    The axe in shoreditch

    nuff said.

"Quality of the beer's still none too good, the landlord also sticks an extra 50 pence on the all the prices after 11pm. But then people only go to the Ax for the girls, who whilst not as pretty as those found in the more upmarket joints will actually sit & chat with you and I challenge anyone to tell me of a UK strip joint that gives you better quality private dances than you get here."

    the axe

I've only been there once. The night ended with me asking one of the strippers out on a date. She said no.
