Greetings all, it's a very long time since I posted on here so please forgive my views if they don't match your own.

Imagine actually trying to run s football club in this day and age. It must be s huge responsibility to manage the expectations of fans (both who attend and also the armchair brigade, who incidentally have as much right to be a fan as those of us who travel the lengths and breaths of the country watching OUR team). We all want success, we all want to sign the best players, we all want the best facilities, we all want to have minimal prices for tickets and food etc etc. Now I'm sure no chairmen, owners and board members want us to fail so please take some time to imagine how difficult a job it is to keep our beloved club in business.

Now imagine how difficult it is to manage a football team with all the above expectations and also trying to do all the standard stuff like, man manage, think of tactics, prepare for a game, look at the opposition, manage injuries etc etc. Yeah they get paid a huge amount of money but we all know money can't wipe away pressure to succeed

Now imagine how easy it is to be a fan, we make decisions based on the heart not the head, we can switch off most of the week (some more than others) and we mainly don't have a major financial attachment to the club that impacts on others.

Lee Johnson has left for pastures new, a new future ex manager will be employed, players will come and go (even Sammy) but in years to come we will still be here supporting the team so surely it's much better to stay positive?

I've read this board for years and have seen it change from a very harmonious place to post, to an often bitter soundboard where individual attacks are common place. We don't all agree on everything but is there any need to be personal?

My main point is that regardless of board, players and managers, we will always be the supporters and we should SUPPORT our team through thick and thin.

    Sorry for waffling

    Yooouuuuuu rrreeeddddddssssssss!!!!!

I'm not sure I get your point, is anyone not supporting the team?

Welcome back but it seems an odd time to be saying this. At the moment the board is as harmonious as its been in years, imo.

I agree with your sentiments but it doesn't work that way for some. Its only a few people on this board but it appears that if there choice of manager isn't picked for the job they then bombard this board with negativity and at times abuse and ends up with them wanting the manager to fail so they can say I told you so.

That's not just relevant to football though, but life in general.

    It's called "the egoic mind".

Until the elite start nailing their colours to a certain manager of their choice. Started already.
