A few of my opinions (may be wrong, but this is what I see) I believe the Financial Fair Play rules do not come into place until next season. So here we are sticking to it this season (I suspect a few other clubs are trying to aswell), but it does seem as though their are one or two clubs taking advantage in the hope of getting the premier league paycheck... So we are not well off (becoming more and more louder). So we have to look to lower league players and so have become *****. Well the article posted yesterday dispells that myth, as swansea (yes bigger crowds), but their "income" and "Expenditure" (if you can determine from the graph) was VERY VERY similar to ours. They are now in the premier league. Obviously we have been signing the "wrong players". Money is tight, so we need to maximise revenue streams... Well, Do we make more money by outsourcing the clubshop and pie stands than what we would by running it ourselves? Don't know, but I sure as hell can't think we ever would (In my opinion, we have not run it well ourselves and as such it became to much to mess about with and so got shut). I have stopped purchasing from the Pie stand as I have no idea how much BFC get from it (one off payment?, Percentage of Sales etc?), and so I won't part with money I am not sure if the club gets or not, can this be cleared? Same now with the club shop, I won't buy a shirt I am not sure how much goes to BFC, I won't line the pockets of a multinational company over my club, again can this be cleared up. The same with Barnsley Player, Yes, Gally quoted the club get more than the subscription, like what?, Again I won't part until I know how much of what I part with end up with BFC.... I can't be the only one thinking like that. I believe our club has been run into the ground (not on purpose mind), but some shockingly poor business decisions has been made. Anyway, back to on field, We are out of our depth, and I can only see one result this season, relegation, it smacks of the last time we went down to league one, poor purchases and poor tactics and we will suffer (I really hope it can turn around, but I am at a loss as to see where)... This brings me back to my 1st point. Breaking even. How the hell will we break even next year in League one, when we would lose what, a good couple of million in TV revenue? Surely it would make it worse. So what am I appealing for, just for one more season of "faith from Cryne" (although I think he has had enough ploughing into the club) until next season where all clubs are restricted to the fair play rules and no one gets to spend what the don't have. You know, it just may make ALL clubs reduce player wages and in turn we could attract players on lower wages with better quality (if that makes sense)... I am so sad to see what we are turning out on the pitch at the moment, but, I was also one of those blindingly fooled into believing we were to be something special this year... Never Again But I do agree with KH in the negativey stakes in the stands, but I also can see and feel the frustration of what many of us fear, and so somehow (and I don't know how) us fans and the club, need to meet in the middle. Blah Blah Blah Over and out
You are not the only one that thinks like that with regard to club shop and refreshment stalls. Always had half time pie and drink, programme and bought the shirts if I liked the design and spent loads in the early years in Supporters club now I go to game and spend nowt unless I go for a swift one in town or int Mount. Lucky they have reasonably priced Season tickets really cos if I had to pay matchday prices I think I`d be an armchair listener.
and who's the General Manager again? oh, sorry, poor old Don, doing a great job ain't he, best not criticise him..........
