When Paul Heckingbottom is announced as our new manager/head coach it will be the first time ever that the selection is accepted by 100% of the fans. I assume there isn't anyone out there who doesn't want him to get the job.
Yes me. There's always one int ther !!! But seriously I would prefer Neil Redfearn - with Hecky in a support role. Redfearn has drive and experience that would add to the capabilities of Hecky.......match made in heaven And a real force and partnership to be reckoned with
Yes redfearn's a barnsley legend but he's not exactly been a successful manager has he? Hecky all the way for me
Each to their own I suppose but I'd hate redfern to get the job. He is a Barnsley legend wouldn't want anything thing to spoil that and he has hardly been a success at management. Hecky deserves it 100% won us the fl trophy and has given us a very good chance of making the play offs.
so when is this announcement to be made or are you just speculating.... personally I hope its true, the lad totally deserves it in my book.
The test will be when we start losing, either through bad luck or poor performances. Then we can judge and see if he has the right application to turn things around. At the moment though we're on the crest of a wave and long may it continue.
Re: so when is this announcement to be made Surely he will be appointed at some time, probably at the end of the season. The board of directors have never had an easier decision to make.
they may be waiting to see what division we are in next season maybe that's a major consideration in this decision.
It would be in humane not to give him the job, whether anybody believes he has the experience to be successful or not
I don't want him to get the job. Pay him the whack yes, but leave things as they are. I'd hate to see hecky sacked and leave oakwell if times got rough again. It's not broke, why mess with it?
Let's hope it turns out better than the last time we gave it to the universally popular candidate. Mr Flitcroft.
He's won us promotion as a player, a trophy as an head coach, and is a lifelong fan from the town. Nothing not to like and he's earned the role full time a long time ago. We shouldn't still be dragging our feet with it. I think the board are taking advantage of his good nature knowing he won't pressure them into making a decision quicker.
I thought with your decision not to go to Wembley, you'd used up all your terrible ideas for this year. Clearly not!
