We desperately needed the 3 points tonight and thankfully we got em. Unfortunately bloody Preston beat Weat Brom so points wise we are no further away from the bottom 3. I honestly think that at least 53 points are needed to be safe this time, Scunny & Colchester are looking doomed but the other spot is going to go to the wire. Regarding the game tonight Muller's injury highlighted the folly of not having a sub goalie but luckily we got away with it. Looks like Muller could be out for a few weeks and how much faith have we in Colgan or Letheren (particularly at Anfield)?! Leon looked an excellent acquisition and with a little composure in front of goal could have notched a couple. Thought Nardiello looked well off the pace and will need a few games to get his match sharpness back, but he does look to have shed some weight. Macken showed us what we have missed since Christmas and will only get better with more games under his belt. Not sure about Davey's idea of playing Hassell in the holding role either. He did well enough but was so deep he was more like an extra defender, leaving us short in midfield and inviting the oppostion on. Not a good idea when you have a one-legged goalkeeper!! Anyway it was 3 vital points in the bag. If by some miracle De Silva signs before midnight Thurs it will have been a good week!! One last point - the pitch is crap. Never seen it as bad in years.
