After yesterday's very welcome victory. If we can pick something up at London Road, we can hopefully look forward to Saturday's game against United with a little bit more confidence. We haven't turned things round, yet. Everything isn't suddenly rosy. Our problems haven't disappeared. But it's a start and one we can all surely enjoy? We've had the worse run of results I've ever witnessed these past couple of months and I'm not trying to paint it as anything other than terrible. But it also meant that yesterday's win brought a wonderful sense of relief & joy. Hopefully, it's the start of better times to come for us. This is one happy Victor Meldrew. Still.
After such an awful run of defeats, four points from two away games in a matter of days would be very welcome. I'd certainly not be upset with a 0-0 draw, but (being a bit greedy) would love a 1-0 win.
Happy Days Are Here Again. Yeah what a very good and much needed victory yesterday. And good to hear you are back to normal mate, confident and optimistic as ever. That really was a very trying couple of months we all had to endure although I did manage to make our victory at Bradford in the JPT. Nearer to home the clouds of depression and despondency just grow and grow over Tannadice these days. Beat again from the Perth Saints. I also had the pleasure of Burgundy Reds company at the game. Great lad apart from him having a leaning towards supporting St Johnstone. Ach well I let him off and looked after him for the day and got him back to the station to get his train back to Glasgow. Hopefully we can turn that corner soon and just like Barnsley get back to winning ways.
It's been a terrible run in the league, Ian, not forgetting the humiliating defeat to Altrincham. Which is why I'm enjoying yesterday's victory. I'm not daft enough to believe we've turned the corner, but I'll be buggered if I'm going to let the relief & joy of a rare victory pass me by, either. I miss Burgundy Red posting on here. He's one of my all-time favourite BBS posters and am pleased to hear he's in good spirits. The Arabs are now cut adrift of the rest in the SPL and if Mixu can bring about a finish of third from bottom, it'd be a tremendous achievement.
St Johnstone I used to drive past McDairmid Park quite often when I was stationed at RAF Kinloss, it was on my route down to Barnsley... we would stop off for a coffee and a bite at the big TESCO that overlooks it... the last time I was at Kinloss was from 1991to 1997... so it had not long been built. I thought it was a smart little stadium and well placed for access. I also went to watch Inverness CT when they first got up into the SFL I have to wonder what their ground is like now.... it only had one stand back then ... by the Kessock bridge it was built on re-claimed land I believe.
Re: St Johnstone 3 stands now. Behind both goals are now seated. I think they are developing the far side to the Kessock Bridge side. Still a right cold place in the winter.
