Just a huge thank you from the residents of oakwell for all the considerate parking that people have done today whilst going to the open day... feel free to park on any grass verge there is... double and triple park especially on grove street leaving just enough room for only single file traffic to come up or down and definitely not enough room for the emergency services to get up or down - especially a fire engine... also feel free to park across garage entrances, across the corners of roads, or across the openings to 'the backs' of houses all this considerate parking whilst parking was completely FREE in the official car park and on the old queens ground neither of which at anytime so far have been full just a couple of snaps i managed to take to try and show some of the carnage - please try and show a little respect to the residents of oakwell
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca Living next to a football stadium and complaining about it being busy? Whatever next?
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca Best description ever. Carnage. Absolute carnage.
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca you ok with all that parking , no consideration ? nice guy you are
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca talking of Sheffield fans, anyone see that guy in the club shop queue wearing a blunts shirt ? saw him go in never saw him reappear though
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca Yeah I saw him also saw him at the back of the East Stand looking drunk as a rat
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca You seriously need to get a life mate
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca Obviously people should show consideration and not park across garage entrances, entrances to backs of houses, on corners of roads etc. However, the parking shown in the photos doesn't look that bad to me. Unless there are yellow lines, the parking is legal isn't it? And it appears to me that a fire engine etc could get along between the parked cars. I wasn't at Oakwell today, and I'm sorry if you have been inconvenienced Keysie, as I live near a train station and get people blocking my drive. But there doesn't look a lot wrong on the photos you've posted. Sorry.
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca BUT it was carnage!
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca Speaking as an Oakwell resident I think I'd stick my two penneth in. It's irrelevant really wether were talking about Oakwell or any other place in town. It's the pure fact of people's lazy, thoughtless behaviour. The pure fact that people choose to turn down the opportunity of FREE and SECURE parking beggars belief. To compound this they choose to 'abandon' their vehicles inconsiderately potentially causing a major problem if any emergency service was required. So (LD) it's not really because I'm a resident I think its ****. It's because I'm a respectable member of public. One who visits Barnsley Hospital and pays to park rather than using residential side streets.
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca my house is not the one with the wednesday stickers! i also saw the guy with the blunts shirt on... just think its a bit of a p*ss take when people are unable to get their cars out of garages due to people who can't be bothered to go and park in a FREE car park... what if a kid had been knocked down trying to cross grove street between the double parked cars and then the ambulance couldn't get to him because of the parking... is that ok then? what if the fire engine thats at the open day is called to a major incident - and is delayed because it struggles to get through the parking and queues? - thats ok then? just doesn't make sense to me when there is plenty of FREE parking in a purpose built car park! ive lived in the oakwell area most of my life and supported the reds all my life - yes residents know what to expect on match days and we live with it but on match days areas are coned off by the club and theres a police presence for some reason open day doesnt get the same treatment
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca What did they expect? But to go out of your way to take photos of cars and post them on here is rather sad imo
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca I have to admit I parked at the side of the school as no one else was there, must also admit I didn't know it was free parking or would have parked there, and am guessing the majority who parked on the streets didn't realise either
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca But that also speaks volumes about society in general. (1) FREE PARKING , I'll use it coz it'll not cost me owt (2) NOT FREE , I'll inconvenience local residents and park across garages, on junctions, double park, abandon mi car on grass verges to save misen a couple of quid.
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca bah, tha'll be moaning abart inconvenience of Christmas next
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca tbh, i was expecting much worse. i agree though, a bit puzzling why people chose not to use the car park
Re: A huge thank you for your considerate parking at the open (thread heavy on sarca Miserable bas.tard
