Would it be possible for club to contact all fans on data base a nd say for a £10 become a member which enables you to purchase matchday tickets for say £20 , this way the club could charge away fans higher price
Good idea, but get ready for indignation and largely invented reasons for not doing it, from people capable of attending enough matches to make a season ticket financially viable. It's their way or no way.
If you recall a few years ago we had that very system (was it just £2 membership?). Patrick stated at a meeting (I think) that it had drawn attention of the Football League and it wasn't allowed. So no, we couldn't bring in such a system.
Personally I think the best solution is to just relax all the rules and let all clubs charge what they want in any area of the ground. That would allow clubs to "cash in" on (ie. rip off) "massive" clubs bringing "massive" amounts of fans to Oakwell when they play us. Then we could charge our own fans (say) £20 and charge fans of "massive" clubs £45. If they think it's too much, they can either moan about it before paying up anyway, or just stop at home and put angry posts on Twitter. I know it will never happen, but there's plenty of precedents for it. Go in the Rambler Inn or the Nags Head in Edale, and take notice of the prices people pay. There's a discount scheme for locals, but they try to keep it quiet. If you know someone who lives there, slip them some dosh and get them to buy the rounds. You'll save a lot. A similar principle operates in many tourist areas, including ski resorts, where locals get their ski passes at greatly reduced rates.
Loada ******** ! Don’t get yours or anyone else’s hostility towards season pass holders tbh . I’ve had a ST for nearly thirty years and it wouldn’t bother me if they let folk in for nowt , doesn’t suit your narrative that though does it ? Some right tools on this forum
Could they not knock so much off like £5 prr ticket and the more you use it after so many games maybe get in free or half price. The club should at least look into it i think to try and encourage more in ,a better atmosphere should be better than playing to half empty stands ,or win now and again
