A little report on yesterday

PRE Match
First of all i set off to barnsley and got in to the town center at about 10.30. What was all that fair stuff in barnsley about. Anyway i set of to the ground and the coaches set of at 11.30. We got to the ground at about 1.30 so i went in to a public house called The peacock (Anyone else go in there ?). There was some barnsley fans in there and one was in shock with the pint prices. I didn't think 2.95 was bad for a pint. Anyway i had 3/4 in there and talked to a Norwich fan and a colchester fan for about a hour. I finally finished my last pint about 2.30 and set off for the ground. Went to get a soft drink from there hatch and there was some more barnsley fans there. They weren't happy about the lack of alcohol. I finally got in to the ground and barnsley where just starting that quick step stuff and went on to shooting. The shooting practice was very funny and some barnsley fans did get hit with the ball.

The match
The teams swapped around and we had Ben Amos in the net at our end. He got called a few things but there was a lot of copper top shouts.

barnsley started the game ok and had a half chance that went over. Barnsley went behind after a few minutes of pressure from the posh when Boyd's pen went in. Not sure if it was a pen but the posh fans finally stood and gave us stick but soon went and sat again. Barnsley soon went level again when super Johny macken put over a great cross for bogdanovic to put away. The barnsley fans got louder if that was possible and sung both bogdanovics and mackens songs. barnsley soon went in front when andersons pass put in macken and he slotted it away at the front post to send the following barmy army very happy.

Barnsley lucked the only team to get the next goal but it never came.

The posh came out first for the second half and did some sort of warm up routine barnsley defended well in the second half and could have scored a couple of times through hammill and Anderson. The defence was brilliant though and kept the posh out well and they really only had long range shops. Ryan shotton was so calm at right back and did not rush a kick. Foster got a yellow what was never a yellow and darren moore and dickinson where there good selves.

Steele-8 kept them out really well and picked everything out of the air well.

Shotton-9 so steady and calm it was simply brilliant to see
Foster-8 very good, hope the yellow can be taken away
moore-7 good but not sure about the pen
dickinson-7 good left back against a good left mid

anderson-8 very good passing and used his speed a few times to get the ball back. You feel there cm's thought when he got close you might as well give him the ball because im not going to keep it.
colace-7 played up the field today and with out halfredson the midfield looks a lot better
doyle-7 good show from the hull man and did the little things well.
hammill- good show from him today and really gave there rb a scare

Macken-8 good display from the former Preston man and really looks at his best.
Boganovic-7 good first half but looked tired in the second

hume, gray, buttefield all did well when came on and didn't let the team down at all.

THE FANS-10 out of 10. we really was up for it and gave the team a 12th and a 13th man. MAGNIFICENT best ive seen for a long time.
