.. Me included. Didn't want Flitcroft 12 months ago. I'll be behind Wilson whatever happens. Getting us out of the **** this season would be a bigger achievement than Flitcrofts last season in my opinion. I know it's probably 50/50 within the fan base, but the guy has a good track record and tries to get the team playing football. Think he will make some changes in the next few weeks (hopefully a left back and a striker that can score) Just hope he doesn't bring Morgan anywhere near the club.
How will it. This squads miles better better than last years and we aren't that far behind them outside of the relegation area.
It is. Instead of the reliable Steele, Foster and Hassell at the back we've now got Butland (Worse than steele), Ramage and Mvoto at the back
tis a game of opinions, but i can't see that. we have a stronger squad now than we did when flicker took over. we were also 9 points adrift, with fewer games in hand, a completely broken squad and fan base. we're currently only 4 points adrift, a stronger squad, more games to play and a largely very excited fan base. i think flicker keeping us up would be bigger. just my opinion.
I dont think Butland is worse than Steele , he is just no better! M`Voto is a walking disaster area and Ramage is no improvement from the matches I have seen, which has been only 3 this season, I admit.
We have one distinctly average keeper. We have one distinctly average left back. We have a number of distinctly average centre halls We have one naturally left footed winger... At scunny. We have a pleathera of soft mid fielders who can't tackle Sunday lunch and don't like it up em We've three decent strikers starved of service. We've a cwt of midfield toilers. The squad had no balance and is starved of quality.
Agreed with most of that......but that's under Flicker's guidance. Could Wilson develop the players in a different structure and improve them? I'd like to think he will have some success in doing just that, maybe not them all, but certainly will develop some of them.
Totally agree TF,I think the squad is better than Flicker inherited and although we're at the bottom it doesn't look as hopeless as it did after the Blackburn game last year, and Danny has 18 more points available than Flitcroft had.
It does Ian,but if you'd seen the last few games of Hill's,the position looked hopeless, this time I think we need the odd addition and a bit of sorting out.
I agree with that, but I don't think it's bad thing, I think they're both very good. Both capable of the odd boob, but in general really good 'keepers for this level.
I don't just look at the league position and think good or bad squad. Burnley are second in the league, they haven't got a good squad. Wigan, 14th. Better squad than Burnley Bolton, 16th, better squad than Burnley Blackpool, 9th, worse squad than Wigan and Bolton. Our squads good. I haven't got a problem with it. With the Transfer window opening soon I think the new manager will chance a few things but hes come and said today that there isn't a lot wrong. Butlands not better than Luke Steele. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Butland is a long way better than Steele. about 1.7 goals per game
I always say that a goal keeper is only as good as the defenders infront of him. And as I've said previously I think the defence needs tightening up. Of course Danny might be the man to get more out of the players we have ATM.
It's all about confidence. A goalkeepers massive. When Muller came a few years ago in the first game our defence looked shaky and not very good. He came in and we looked very good at the back. I read a article on the importance today or yesterday on the sky sports news website on the importance of the Goalkeeper.
Also weds, Donny, Charlton, millwall and Yeovil are ***** which helps ..... even though we couldn't beat any of em first time around
