I've always thought this board is purely for the fans and the club shouldn't really be reading it or allowing it to influence them. Until now. Patrick, if you read this board or someone else from the club does and can pass this message on. You, your CEO and the worst "manager" we have ever had are destroying this once great and proud club. Your motives may be sincere and pure but you do not have a clue what you are doing. That is blindingly obvious to anyone. You need to do the following first thing tomorrow;- 1. Dispense with the services of the man you have allowed to hoodwink you into employing. He will not come good. Your faith is misplaced. 2. Abandon this new strategy whatever it's supposed to be because it is clearly not working. 3. Bring in a manager and allow him to manage and make all decisions on recruitment. You and the CEO should not be having any say on the signings other than whether we can afford them. If you do not do this we will be kicking off next season in the fourth tier of English football with 2,500 season ticket holders slouching to oblivion. This is what you will be remembered for. Act now to stop this. Please.
4. Forget the all or nothing approach to selling the club and attempt to instead dilute your interest.
He posted on his facebook page that he would step aside but wanted to be able to put things right first. If he was being totally honest in that statement then surely he must know the first move he has to make to start putting things right.
It's embarrassing that Johnson is still here, that Hugo is on trial, that despite the entire fanbase calling for an end to the youth loan ****** Patrick is sanctioning them left right and centre, that the only things I recall our chairman saying or doing since he arrived is defending Stuart hall and acting on behalf of qpr (or his company did anyway), that our usually media friendly ceo has been silent for such a long time, that the company who completely ****** up the task of designing potential new badges is now advertised in our programme as leading the clubs marketing strategy, that the club flat our refuses to explain why Lee Johnson is head coach it manager, that a straight answer to what the recruitment policy is is something the club seems unable to provide, that Barry Taylor is still here and that the owner only speaks via facebook In short Barnsley fc under Patrick cryne is a joke. Good intentions but proving that having money doesn't mean you can run a football club. The sad thing is that a sizeable number of people saw that years ago and it was never addressed.
He's just told a successful business man and multi-millionaire that, and I quote, "you do not have a clue what you are doing". He then tells him what needs to be done. Not what he thinks should be done, but what needs to happen, as if the OP knows better. He concludes by telling him what will happen in the future. The justification for sacking the manager based not on what has actually happened, but on what no one can possibly know. Conan has a right to post whatever he pleases and I'm sure many will agree with the sentiment in his post, but it is not calm and measured. It's passionate and hyperbolic, as football fans tend to be when discussing their club. I would imagine Mr Cryne disagrees with it vehemently. I don't know anyone who takes too kindly to being told they haven't a clue what they're doing. If a calm and measured approach was adopted, he might not.
Sadly Mr Cryne adhered to the mob last February and dug himself a great big feckin hole. Can see him walking away very soon...Going to be interesting, cos never mind fourth tier footy, I very much doubt we'll have club. Dark days indeed.
Him being a multi millionaire and a successful business man isn't a definite guarantee or indication that he knows what he is doing when it comes to running BFC. Indeed, the records of the club during his tenure would indicate, no doubts despite his best efforts and the spending of a significant portion of his fortune that the opposite seems to be true. The issue seems to be that those entrusted to run it on his behalf aren't up to it either.
I think what is important is the sentiment, we can all get emotional about this and is to be expected. What is clear is that the club needs to make some kind of statement as they must have realised by now that many supporters are unhappy with how the club is run. They are also very concerned that under the present management we cannot turn the present downward spiral around, and relegation is a very possible scenario. The very minimum today needs to be a statement of intent.
Because Patrick's propping it up with wonga at key moments. Whoever takes it off him might not be so daft.
Don't fret. The supporters trust released a statement yesterday telling us they're releasing a statement this week.
Why are they? We never get an answer to that. Why are we hemorrhaging money at such a rate that despite having one of the largest revenues in the division (as stated by the club) we need propping up?
