A PNE Fan View of Whaley - another "Brian Howard"??

  1. Similar attitude problem according to this guy....

This is my view on Whaley what i put on the LEP site............

There are some serious issues with Whaley allegedly. Nothing to do with anything illegal or anything like like but purely based on attitude etc.

I was glad to see that PNE have put in the provision that he won't play against us on 22nd when Barnsley visit. Unlike Etuhu and Nowland 2 years ago!!!!!

Anyway i get the impression that Whaley has got the major sulks on and doesn't want to play for Irvine in ANY capacity whatsoever and has thrown his toys out the pram BIG STYLE. At Burnley away earlier this season i was stood by the tunnel and Whaley was asked by a fan whether he was playing/on the bench to which he responded.........

"No mate, It's a ducking disgrace i'm not in"

Now to me that sounds like someone who doesn't think as a team player and is in effect a BAD APPLE as christened by Simpleton. Maybe he was on to something?

You can guarantee that Whaley will go and bag about 4 goals in 5 games or something now just watch it.

How the mighty have fallen though? 12-18 months ago he was going to Celtic/Villa/Bolton/QPR for a few million. Now he is turfed out to Barnsley on loan

He is very low on confidence and is a big confidence player. But there is needing confidence and being arrogant.

There has been talk of antics in town, pulling up in a big new Range Rover Sport and sulking when he isn't in the side. He needs a reality check. Yes he has made a decent step up from Bury but his career is now dwindling. He appears to have the mentality that he has already made it to the top when very realistically he is nowhere near fulfilling his early potential.

When he was on hsi game he frightened the defenders to death and his ability to hit a ball so hard with limited backlift was astounding. Added to that some stunning goals make him a frightening prospect.

However in the last 12 months he broke his toe on the bedroom table, missed pen v Pompey which cost us the game, won't tackle people for the ball, will not challenge for headers refuses to jump, won't run at players anymore, appears scared of breaking bones should he tackle anyone. He has basically lost the plot which is sad to see.

I hope he can go to Barnsley and get some games and build the confidence back up so he can return and get back into the team. However, i get the impression that neither he, nor Irvine wants to work with each other anymore? Sad but maybe true.

Simon if you or your family are readin this mate, head down, knuckle down, do the things what you were originally doing, stop the sulkiness and childish behaviour round Preston and get yourself back into the PNE side and show the Champioinship (and Premiership) what you can do!!!!!

  2. And here is another - oh dear!

Yesterday it was being reported that he was about to join Leeds but he has come here instead (bigger club obviously)

More shades of Brian Howard Syndrome:

"Well there saying thta on radio Leeds, Mcallister aint interested. Ther want footballers, not someone whos more interested in going on the p**s all the time. I see him everytime i go out"

'He'll be'? - As in, you haven't seen him play?

I can assure you - he isn't *****. He's a very talented player who can both create and score goals.

from my friend a PNE fan

    Hi Dave

A real enigma. When we first signed him along with Nugent from Bury he looked a terrific prospect. It might sound odd but he reminded me of a young Ryan Giggs - something about his balance as he ran. He started off pretty well, scored a few goals (good powerful shots from distance). Unfortunately its all gone downhill. I do have to doubt his mental strength as he seems to have lost all confidence.

He now looks to have taken his eye off the ball and assumed he had made it - fancy coloured boots don't go down well as Deepdale if you don't look like you're trying 100%. In short he has the ability but the jury is stlll out out whether he has the bottle and desire.

I do hope we have a clause inserted saying he can't play against us (our next home game) because on form he could rip our defence to shreds. The move may be good news for all parties. It you can get him to play it will be an inspired signing for you.

    Alan
