The only argument the pro-Davey lobby seem to have left is that SD kept us up the last 2 seasons. Fair enough.

However, I would suggest that he kept us up the first season with predominantly Ritchies squad. Last season was a mix of Ritchies squad and his own.

This season, it is entirely Davey's squad and we are now officially ****.

    You dig?

Also, the aim should not just be.....

.....to stay up every season. What sort of a goal is that ffs?!?

I'd be happy to stay up..

But staying up means you are allowed to finish above 18th and improve on the previous season.

The SD supporters are really struggling to justify themselves at the moment.

Bearing in mind the current situation, I would take survival if offered it now - however, if purely survival is the sole aim for every season, we don't really have a lot of cheer to look forward to, do we...?

that's the harsh reality for a club who can't half fill their stadium I'm afraid

    Preston are 3rd.

I haven't gone into the demographics to be honest but I'm sure Barnsley and Preston aren't too different in terms of population.

But that's not really surprising considering the dross on show at the minute. Over 14k there against Derby with a reasonable but not huge away following, after a diabolical start to the season suggests that were something decent to be put on the pitch, we easily have the potential to average 15-16k.

Preston and Burnley seem like a pretty good comparison to me......

...both in terms of population and other teams within their catchment area.
