Definitely. A Pompey win leaves us 7 points behind Derby with 2 games in hand, which are both to be played before Derby play again. Potentially could be 1 point behind Derby with 4 games to play. Although with how recent weeks have gone it’s more likely the gap will 5 points or more.
Can`t tell you how many times I`ve looked at the remaining fixtures and thought about the games in hand and Derby and Bolton to some extent slipping up. But each time I make the fatal mistake of assuming we`ll win all our games!!!
We need a Pompey win tonight just to keep it interesting. Realistically our top two chances are minuscule having suffered the last two home results that we have. But Portsmouth sewing up the league and leaving only second to play for keeps the teams closer to us I guess.
We will win our next two games. Charlton and Stevenage away. No problems. Our problem will be going into the Reading game needing to win to keep the pressure on Derby (who I expect to be 4 points clear by beating Wycombe)... Of course, we'll then beat Portsmouth and Blackpool to put us in the hot seat and lose against Northampton...
I hope we win every game but I'm past caring to be honest. Braced for Play-Offs. Draw with Cheltenham and Cambridge have knocked excitement of a promotion push out of it for me. I know Play-Offs is still technically a promotion push but they're too much of a lottery.
Never over until it’s over, but it’s not just us chasing Derby down, so still out of our hands. Win last 6 and we might have a chance
I think we have a horrible run-in. People are citing our away form as reason to be optimistic but we have four difficult away games. Hopefully wins against Reading and Northampton will be enough to guarantee a Play-Off spot.
Oddly enough on Sunday I was out with a group of lads and one of them who I’d not met before is a Derby fan and when he found out I was a Red, first thing he said was we’d bottled it, I replied with I thought we beat you? With which he said well yes it was your cup final! All good natured banter mind.
I think breaking our club away record is fantastic. I’d much sooner go into these last 4 aways on the back of that record than not.
