A pretty pointless question . . .

    . . . to take my mind off tonight's result:

    The commentator tonight said that refs had been told to book players who were too slow leaving the field having been substituted. If this happened and the player had already been booked, would he be sent off and the replacement player prevented from joining the match to replace him? Or would the exchange be deemed to have taken place and the offending player merely suspended from the following match.

    My guess would be the former (as we've all seen substitutions where the player starts to go off and then someone else goes off instead) but it'd be a brave ref to do it.

    Your brave ref comment doesnt wash though - A few of this shower would relish being in the spotlight of being the first to do that one
