Yeh, this is a question about Cramp.

Has any of you had a cramp so bad that it injured the muscle?

I woke up on Sunday morning and whilst I was still laid on my back I stretched my arms and legs out, and got a bloody awful cramp in my left calf.

I've had cramps before but this one seemed to be a cramp and a half it lasted 3 times longer than any I can remember.

To make things worse it has left me with a very sore calf muscle just below the knee and my Achilles tendon is very tender.

Iv'e must have had hundreds of muscle injuries over the years but this on has to be the most stupid.

Yep - had one before that the muscle has ached for a couple of days after.

Bloody excruciating when you get a cramp in the middle of the night.

    You sure it was cramp

and not a nerve that was traped by the muscle spasm ?

If it wakes you up and has already started it's difficult to avert.

But - if you can, stretch your leg out and turn your toes upwards towards your knee, as intensley as you can. It will avert any attack before it comes on and limit any damage that has already started.

My missus swears by Tonic Water for night cramps, which she suffers from badly, she always has a bottle and glass by the bed just in case, it is the quinine in the tonic that avaerts the cramps if you can catch it early enough. I dont get cramps so I dont get it but she recons she knows when it is coming on and the Tonic stops it getting worse
