The best thing before sliced bread. Was unsliced home made bread. Not this processed crappy Shiite white chemical, artificially produced tasteless cardboard, that is produced so cheaply that i am surprised horse hasn't been found in it. Rant endeth here!
Sliced bread was first commercially available in 1928, so we have to look for something invented later than that for it to be the first thing to be the best thing since sliced bread. In 1929, Sam Foster invented and mass-produced the first tinted eye-wear pieces solely intended to block out sunlight. They were quite the hit. So it could be said that sunglasses were the first thing to be the best thing since sliced bread.
And what did we say before sliced bread was invented? Cor that sliced bread is a belting idea, it's got to be the best thing since the wheel?
also in 1929 penicilin was invented so i think that was more important than sun eyewear. But that is just an opinion
But also th iron lung was invented in 1928, fleming discovered penicillin in 1928 but didnt use till 1929. the home pregnancy test was invented, the fist yoyo factory. and mickey mouse first appeared, so mickey mouse is the answer
Couple of things about that. Fleming discovered penicillin in 1928 not 1929. But it wasn't used outside of trials until the 1940s, so it could hardly be said to be the best thing since sliced bread in 1929 when no one had heard of it.
who heard of the sliced bread machine apart from the inventor, which incidentally was invented in the USA, How long before it got to the UK.
This is weird. Bossman asked a light hearted question and I gave a light hearted answer. You seem to want to have a big row about it. I'm sorry mate but I'm not interested. You can row with yourself. Whatever you say is right.
surly the best thing to be invented since the sliced bread machine would have been the sliced bread packing machine?
I'm still trying to work out the question. I only answered Bruce Springsteen in order to ingratiate myself with Bossman, should I need to call upon him for a favour in the future. Was sliced bread really that groundbreaking to be remembered as a pivotal reference point for human advancement? The sundial is far more important. Plus, it would have spared us that cringeworthy lyric in Imitation of Life by REM, an otherwise half decent latter-career tune from Georgia's finest exponents of thinking-man's pop music, led by the mercurial and enigmatic Michael Stipe?
his question probably isnt worded correctly sliced bread has been around ever since a cutting implement has so to determine the answer we have to determine if the cutting implement was out before the bread. his question should mention the sliced bread machine.
why would i want to argue with you. i am giving different variants to the answer as are most others. it seems its you that is not light hearted
