By God we needed it - great result in the end against a very good Ipswich side IMHO.

I have to say I expected a defeat tonight - given the efforts expended beating and celebrating beating Chelsea! The lads dug deep and got their rewards, and overall we had the better chances. Game would have been a different story if they'd equalised at 2-1 mind.

Not sure where they pick the refs up from - if he'd just booked Counago and/or Lee for the first incidences of dissent/diving they'd have both been off before the hour. Most refs are dying to let the players know who's in charge. Then he gave us a penalty which I thought was dubious, but reading the comments from those that have seen it on TV, seems I'm wrong (as per most incidents at that end of the field!).

On Alan Lee - I just can't bring myself to call him, even after flinging himself around like a big jessie for 90 mins. Remember this man played a huge part in keeping us up last season, and perhaps as much to the point, sent Leeds down!

Very relieved tonight... "are you Chelsea in disguise"?

Agree totally, at 2-1 Counago hit the post twice and dived to try and win a penalty, if Ipswich had got it back 2-2 i think we may have lost the game! They are probably the best "footballing" side to come to Oakwell this season IMHO. However the lads hung on in there and then we got the penalty to go 3-1 up and so this result should give them the confidence to go to Palace Saturday and get a result.

    Agreed

Thought Ipswich were a good footballing side but suspect at the back.

KO should have had a couple first half, they dominated the second.

On another day it could've been 3-3 and no-one would have complained.

3 much needed points though .... it would be nice to win 2 out of our next 3 league games and have safety assured before Wembley.

    not impossible?

It'd be nice to think so

but I feel our away performances are a law unto themselves, I'd be grateful for anything on the road.

It'd also be great to get a win against the Blunts and salvage at least some local bragging rights.

    RE: Agreed

Just 4 pts from those and we will be looking ok in the league. Some more winnable games at home to come.
