Hi Dean, Thanks for your email. Barnsley FC was one of the first businesses we tried to get when we launched Bee Vouchers. Armed with your email, I’ve spoken to their marketing department again. They say they are very restricted with regards to offering discounted tickets for matches, and when they do them, they tend to be promoted directly via the club. The various other outlets (food kiosks/restaurant/club shop) are all run as franchises over which the club has no direct control. They have asked me to send the information to them again so they can have another look, so fingers crossed! Gally if you are around and havent had your meeting with lindleys yet, maybe armed with the email i received i can email it to you directy. would lindleys bee prepared to get involved too maybe a soup and pie combo or a burger and beer combo or something along those lines. also ask Don Rowing if theres a deal that could be done at Oakwell.
BFC only do discounts with an 1887 Card/Special Match Voucher I/Colchester stub if you buy from the box office in advance (unless you're a Huddersfield fan)
No the guy left the company. I have to arrange another date when I return from my conference trip. Worth a mention I reckon.
the guy ive been emailing with is a reds fan of 40 years and i think his views sum up what a lot of people are feeling at the moment Thanks Dean, As a Barnsley fan of almost 40 years, I understand what you’re saying. This is the first season I haven’t attended a single game, and at around £25 a go, I doubt I will. I’m just pleased that neither of my two teenage daughters enjoy the game (though not through lack of trying on my part), otherwise I’d probably have to re-mortgage the house! It’s sad, but the feeling amongst many of my fellow fans is that we’re just waiting for the inevitable drop into League One. In the past I would have happily coughed up the gate fee just to watch Glavin, Hignett or Redfearn. Unfortunately, we can’t seem to attract/afford that calibre of player anymore, one that will put bums on seats….it’s a self fulfilling prophecy.
