I would like to thank Simon Davey for what he tried to do for the club. Although not a popular choice from the fans, he was always up against it from the off. Thank you for a wonderful FA Cup run in 2008 and thanks for keeping us up against the odds in 2007. He has brought in some wonderful players to the club and I can not fault his eye for talent in the transfer market on a low budget. The problem that he had was he wasn't a man manager and didn't seem to get good motivation into the players. I personally didn't think he ever knew his best starting eleven. The time is right though Simon for both parties to move on I'm afraid as on paper, you created a great squad but the problem was tactically on the pitch. I never thought for one minute that you didn't want to do well for Barnsley Football Club and in some occasions you brought us some memories that will last forever. Liverpool and Chelsea spring to mind aswell as the victory against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough last season. The FA Cup semi final at Wembley will also never be forgotten. You had a job to do in keeping us up for 3 seasons albeit narrowly but now we now have a squad that should challenege for a mid table position and unfortuantly, it is time for someone else to step in and get us there. I want to thank Simon for all his hard work and good luck in the future in whatever it may hold. THANK YOU SIMON
