A focal point. An idol even.

That's what Barnsley fans haven't had for years. Someone who can carry the hopes and dreams of the fans.

Hammill can be that once again and its what weve been crying out for.

Hammill can't paper over the cracks himself, and I have little confidence in LJ's ability, but at least Hammill can give us some positivity and drive to be better.

Here's hoping he is the catalyst to an overhaul of tactics, playing style and approach by the manager.

I think last night we had 10 players whose priority was to 'play well' and we had Hammill whose priority was to score a goal.

For too long this season we have had a team that has confused two things -- playing well and winning games.

A new player with a new mind set will be a good thing.

Let's hope that come January he realises that leaving Barnsley is bad for his career 

And until then the club should fabricate stories of him drinking and womanising, eating babies and burning cats etc, to put other clubs off lol

loved how hammill was just a class above, then rest of lads stepped it up too,he can only do good things,if all the young lads look up to him on the pitch ,then even if we have to pay him more wages, they wont mind as he is winning them games

O'Sullivan had the same effect last season. His energy rubbed off on all the others.

While that's true and I am grateful to Hammill for bringing that, isn't it pathetic that it takes someone else playing well for a professional footballer to bother putting effort in..

Course he was! He was entitled to be considering the effort he put in. I thought his legs were gone and then he dances into the box and scores a beauty!

At the whistle he was flat on his face. Maybe kissing the hallowed turf?

Great night for the lad but now he needs to do it again on Saturday and then KEEP ON doing it.

every good Barnsley side as had a great winger in it, when hammill was dancing from side to side before cutting in and smashing it home, worth a tenner just to see that, blowing out of his arse and still can do that ,get him fit and we can look forward to playing against a few 10 men teams, because these cloggers in this league, gonna have to bring him down to stop him, just pray he stays sound if he gets any treatment off the pub team defenders #YOUREDDDDDS
