A total lack of ambition if we appoint Mark Robins.

Totally uninspired. A 4th division manager will less than 2 years experience in the bottom league. No knowledge of Championship players, teams. There is a saying "sign players from the lower leagues and this is where you will end up". Very disapointed. :'(

Can't agree more but it's a gamble and you'll thank him if it pays off. I think he has done well with little money. COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!!!!!

Don't think it's total lack of ambition - More a total lack of money.

We can't afford big name managers. It'd be nice, but the fact is we can't.

Lets get Curbishley, give him £7000 a week on a 3 year contract. If he would come for that (which I doubt)

Things don’t go to plan; he starts getting groans & moans from the crowd. Then his wife says she don’t like it up here in the north, I want to go back home to the south.

What happens then? (dunno)

A loy of clubs lack ambition. Derby County for one, appointing a Conference Manager.

Most Mangers with Championship experience have being sacked at some piont. Other Championship clubs that end up in our position could look at Davey and think this bloke kept a club in the Championship on a low buget, hes qualified to the hilt and got his team to semi's of the FA Cup sounds a better CV than a lot of managers knocking at present.
So to go for an up and coming Manager with plenty of contacts in the game, he will have looked at the best players from the lower leagues. Whats better for us to look at, the averge championship players with no passion left in them that we can afford or the top lower league players that have ambition to succed at a higher level.
I think there's more ambition to try and get a manager with ambition rather than the merry go round ones.

    Question for you.

Should Burnley have sacked Owen Coyle after promotion? He doesn't know Premiership players according to your theory so how can he manager in that league? What a pile of crap.
