    Don't worry about it, they will all continue their development fine by playing in the EFL trophy, the FA have it in hand, the home nations teams will all be worldbeaters soon.

    Indeed. In Isgrove's case it may well have effectively wasted a whole season of potential development. I suppose you can argue that Fletcher is at least in the matchday squad and Mawson will probably break into it more regularly soon.

    As an aside, the EFL Trophy is scheduled to coincide with international breaks. Therefore the most talented young England players will be too busy representing various England youth set ups rather than playing in the very competition woefully re-designed to help them develop. Truly bonkers.
