You're right..

..at the moment its still opinion. However should we finish in the top 6 then that opinion would prove accurate. At the moment this so called optimistic hope is more likely than any mid table pessimism.

There's Lies, damn lies and statistics.

You appear to be on a downer.

The Top 6 teams at christmas

tend to finish in the top 6.

You have the data, do the maths.

I cannot believe the amount of pessimism on this board. Or is it only the pessimists who are vocal after a few poor results.

I'd say we have enough strength in depth to finish about 6-12th.

I'm usually quite realistic in my assessments I would say, but any better than that would depend on luck, i.e., the number of injuries we sustain. For example, if a couple of key players were injured, like at Newcastle with Owen and Parker, you could easily imagine us losing ground.

We have lost 1 in 14 league games

We are 6th and half way through the season, we dont play any different teams in the second half. We needed a striker, we get one, we have a great manager and some quality players. We also have good strength in depth to cover for any injuries. Ill go for top 2. Definately playoffs.

Winning the home games ought to do it.
